The Sharr Mountains (Malet e Sharrit / Sar Planince) form a mountain range in the Balkans that extends from Kosovo and the northwest of North Macedonia to northeastern Albania. The section in Kosovo is a national park. Prizren is the biggest city close to this mountain range,
The 30 peaks higher than 2,500 m (8,200 ft) and 70 above the 2,000 m (6,600 ft) all covered by snow from late fall to end of winter offer a spectacular view over this mountain range. There are 70 glacier lakes on Sharr.
These Mountains that in antiquity were called Scardus, Scodrus, Scordus or Catena Mundi (Latin for "the chains of the world") are home to the Illyrian Shepherd Dog.
